Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp

This dessert is gluten-, dairy-, and cane-sugar free.  It makes a great winter treat.  We've also sneaked leftovers for breakfast.

Serves: 12
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 40 minutes


  • ​6-8 Granny Smith apples, sliced
  • 2 TBSP maple syrup (or honey)
  • 1 TSP cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 CUP oats
  • 1/2 CUP walnuts (or pecans), chopped
  • 1/2 CUP coconut sugar
  • 6 TBSP coconut oil
  • 1/8 TSP salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In mixing bowl, toss together apples, maple syrup (or honey), and cinnamon.
  3. Transfer to a 9x13 baking dish.
  4. Place oats in blender or food processor and pulse five or six times to create a mix of oat flour and cut oats.
  5. Combine oats, nuts, sugar, oil, and salt.
  6. Sprinkle mixture over apples.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes.
