  • ​florets of 1 small cauliflower 
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • dash paprika
  • (OPTIONAL)1 teaspoon lemon juice (will turn broccoli a sickly yellow-green if added earlier)
  • (OPTIONAL) 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • (OPTIONAL) whole ripe olives


  1. Steam cauliflower as for broccoli, but for 10 - 15 minutes or until just tender; remove and steam broccoli until tender; to serve cold, rinse in cold water and chill.
  2. Mound cauliflower in center of serving platter, surrounded by broccoli; garnish cauliflower with dash paprika.
  3. (OPTIONAL) If served hot, fold in lemon juice and butter just before serving, or if served cold, garnish with olives.
