Cream of Mushroom Sauce

Serves: About 1  1/2 CUP

Cook Time: A few Minutes


  • ​3 TBSP melted butter (or coconut oil)
  • 3 TBSP white flour (or 4 TBSP brown rice flour)2 CUP chopped mushrooms
  • 1 CUP chicken broth 
  • 3 TBSP cream
  • (OPTIONAL) salt, to taste


  1. Sauté mushrooms in the fat before adding flour; cook mushrooms until the liquid starts coming out of the mushrooms (very important for the flavor; do not drain).
  2. Blend flour into mushrooms over low heat, allowing to bubble and cook while stirring with wire whisk for 1 minute.
  3. Remove from heat and gradually stir in chicken broth and cream with wire whisk until smoothly blended.
  4. (OPTIONAL) Add salt.
