Green Beans Amandine

This elegantly simple vegetable is especially tasty made with fresh green beans.

Yield: About 2 CUP
Cook Time: 10 Minutes


Ingredients

  • ​1 TBSP melted butter
  • 1/4 CUP almonds, sliced or slivered
  • 2 CUP (1/2 LB) fresh green beans
  • (OPTIONAL) about 1/2 CUP red bell pepper or mini bell pepper strips
  • fresh lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Sauté almonds in butter until lightly golden; set aside.
  2. Steam green beans about 10 minutes to desired tenderness.
  3. Optionally add peppers in the last 3 - 5 minutes of cooking.
  4. To serve, top beans with sautéed almonds. For extra flavor, toss beans with fresh lemon juice before topping with almonds.


Info

Tip:  Green beans will lose bright color fast if allowed to sit before serving.
