Mashed Potatoes

Serves: 4
Cook Time: 35 to 40 Minutes

  • 11/2 cups water
  • Four 8 OZ potatoes
  • 1/8 CUP (2 TBSP) butter
  • 1/3 CUP raw milk or cream
  • 1/2 TSP salt, to taste
  • (OPTIONAL) 1/8 TSP pepper

  1. Wash, peel, cut potatoes in chunks; steam until tender, 35-40 minutes, or pressure cook at 15 LB pressure with cups water for 10 minutes or according to your pressure cooker instructions.
  2. Mash potatoes together with remaining ingredients.

Tip: Cooled mashed potatoes are difficult to reheat without losing texture; if not serving them immediately, put them in a Crock-Pot® or slow cooker on low until ready to serve. If needed, adjust consistency with a little hot milk or cream.

Variation: Add 2 - 4 cloves of garlic in Step 2 to make Garlic Mashed Potatoes.
