Savory Eggs 'n Cherry Tomatoes


An old recipe with less fat and fewer calories. Be creative
with the seasonings!

Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook Time: 10 Minutes


  • ​Large eggs
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon mayonnaise, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon plain yogurt, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar, to taste
  • Seasonings of choice: sesame seeds, paprika, dill weed,
    chili powder, garlic powder, chives,
    curry powder, onion powder, minced parsley,
    celery seeds, or any other herb combination


  1. Hard-cook the eggs:
    1) Cover eggs completely in a saucepan with cold water.
    2) Bring water to a boil.
    3) Immediately remove pan from the heat.
    4) Immediately cover the pan with lid.
    5) Let the eggs stand in the hot water for 15 - 20 minutes.
    6) Drain water and cool eggs in cold water.
    7) Refrigerate eggs until cold.
  2. Peel eggs: roll them on the counter to crack shell; start peeling from
    the wide end where there is a hollow under shell; rinse well after
  3. Slice eggs in half lengthwise with sharp knife. Remove yolks with
    small spoon into a small mixing bowl. Mash yolks with a fork,
    mixing in the following for each yolk used:
    1 teaspoon mayonnaise, to taste
    1 teaspoon plain yogurt, to taste
    1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar, to taste
  4. Mix desired seasoning into yolks and pile into egg whites
  5. Arrange on a serving plate with cherry tomatoes.
